HeadStart: Awareness, networking and mentoring to prepare tomorrow's talent for AI

As part of the HeadStart project, WIDE ANDCO organised several events in Luxembourg aimed at raising awareness, supporting and connecting key audiences around the issues of artificial intelligence, ethics and inclusion in technology careers.

Awareness and networking around AI

Through events such as MEGALAB, which brought together more than 60 young people and 5 youth educators, and Women Founders 2025, which gathered 58 women entrepreneurs and project leaders alongside 5 key stakeholders, WIDE ANDCO has created spaces for exchange that promote understanding of the transformations linked to artificial intelligence. These events have raised awareness of ethical issues, encouraged the responsible use of technology and given young people, youth professionals and women entrepreneurs concrete benchmarks for planning their future careers. By highlighting the resources of the HeadStart project, such as The AI Toolbox for Youth Educators, and facilitating networking sessions, these valuable moments of exchange have also strengthened the links between stakeholders involved in a more diverse and equitable technological ecosystem.

Mentoring and talent support

Mentoring is a central pillar of the HeadStart project. Through career guidance sessions and mentoring formats, organised in particular with the support of the University of Luxembourg, 10+ mentors, 5 youth workers, and 10+ mentees took part in meaningful exchanges around AI. These sessions offered participants a safe space to share their questions, ambitions and career aspirations, while benefiting from concrete feedback and peer learning from female mentors. These mentoring activities also served as an opportunity to actively promote the HeadStart resources, in particular the Directory of Women in AI, helping participants identify relevant profiles and continue building connections beyond the sessions.

By promoting exchanges between mentors and mentees at both local and European level with the participation of our Headstart partners, Momentum and Inspiring Girls Portugal, these initiatives have helped to build confidence, expand professional networks and make careers in artificial intelligence more visible and accessible, particularly for women.

Towards a more inclusive AI

By combining awareness, networking and mentoring, HeadStart acts as a lever for opportunities for emerging talent. The project continues to build a community committed to a common vision: artificial intelligence developed and used in an ethical, inclusive and forward-looking manner.

More actions and mentoring opportunities are coming early 2026 as part of the HeadStart project, so stay tuned for the next steps!
