In March 2024, Galway, Ireland, hosted the first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) for the Erasmus+ Headstart project. Representatives from all partner organisations gathered to align our vision, discuss Work Package 2 (WP2), and set the stage for fostering gender equality in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Exploring WP2
The meeting focused on WP2: Visual Showcase Resources, which will feature 12 video interviews with women in AI, highlighting career paths and challenging stereotypes. Discussions covered:
- Themes: Featuring diverse professional backgrounds to show AI's multidisciplinary impact.
- Production: Momentum Marketing Services outlined their strategy for creating engaging videos for platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
- Collaboration: Partners committed to ensuring the videos reflect diverse perspectives.
Advancing Gender Equality in AI
Headstart tackles the underrepresentation of women in AI, where only 22% of professionals globally are female. By equipping young women with AI skills and relatable role models, we aim to inspire the next generation. Discussions also covered:
- Developing an AI Toolbox for Youth Educators (WP3) with practical resources.
- Organising Networking and Mentoring Sessions (WP4) to connect young women with AI professionals.
- Implementing a Share and Sustain Strategy (WP5) to expand the project’s reach.
Team Bonding in Galway
After productive sessions, the team enjoyed Galway’s culture with an evening dinner in the city. The relaxed atmosphere fostered connections, strengthening collaboration for the journey ahead.
